Our fathers, mothers, and friends may be eligible for a unique benefits via the Veterans Administration (VA) called “Aid and Attendance" or "VACCN". The Aid and Attendance benefit can provide up to $2,200 per month to Veterans and their spouses who need non-medical care/assistance to help them with activities of daily living in their home or chosen residence, while the VACCN Benefit can provide veterans with home care services. There are currently over 15 million Veterans who are believed could qualify for these benefits, and only 3% of them are currently taking advantage of them – mainly because most don’t know they exists or have been inaccurately told by the VA that they don’t qualify.

The Aid and Attendance Pension Requires the Veteran and Spouse to Comply with the Following:

They are over age 65.
They are a Veteran, a spouse of a living Veteran, or a surviving spouse of a Veteran.
The Veteran served in “Active Military” status for 90 days during an approved time of war: WWII, Korean War, or Vietnam War.
The Veteran had an honorable discharge.
The Veteran or surviving spouse meets income requirements.
The Veteran, spouse of a living Veteran, or surviving spouse of a Veteran needs regular assistance with bathing, grooming, meal preparation, etc., to stay independent in their home or chosen residence.

The VA Community Care Network/VACCN Requires the Veteran to Comply with the Following:

Military, naval, or air service members who were separated under any condition other than dishonorable.
Current and former members of the Reserves or National Guard who were called to active duty (other than for training) by a federal order and completed the full period for which they were called or ordered to active duty.
Served 24 continuous months or the full period for which they were eligible. (exception: Those discharged for hardship or received and "early out").
The veteran meets income requirements.
